Musée Nissim de Camondo opening hours

Search for the hours and half the results will tell you the house opens tomorrow at ten. It does not, and it will not until the end of 2029; the closure page has the timeline. I am keeping the old timetable here because it is the best indication of the new one, and because people planning a 2030 trip have asked me for it.

The hours as they were

Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 17:30. The ticket desk closed at 16:45, and a visit needs about an hour and a half, so anyone arriving after four was rushed; the how long to visit page explains the timing. The museum was closed all day Monday and Tuesday, and on 25 December, 1 January and 1 May. Online time-slot booking was recommended at weekends. In normal years it took part in the Nuit des Musées, a Saturday in May with free late opening.

Why two closing days?

Visitors ask why Paris museums close on Tuesday. Many national museums close one weekday for maintenance and rehanging; the Louvre and others chose Tuesday long ago, and the habit spread. The Camondo took Monday and Tuesday both, which for a small house with a permanent staff and no rotating exhibitions was a matter of resources rather than tradition. The practical consequence was that a weekend visitor with a Monday flight home had one shot at it, on the Sunday.

The quietest hour

Ten minutes before opening. Visitors who stood at the gate at 9:50 reported having the reception rooms almost to themselves. My groups, booked for late morning, never did. If the same hours return, that advice will too.
