Who gets into the Musée Nissim de Camondo free?

These are the conditions as they stood at the Camondo before the closure and as they stand at its sister museum now. I list them without figures because this site prints none; what matters is whether you qualify, and if you do, whether you bring proof.

Who qualifies

• Anyone under 18.
• Anyone aged 18 to 25, which in practice means free admission under 26. Bring a passport or identity card showing your date of birth.
• Disabled visitors with a mobility-inclusion card, and one companion with them.
• Students of the École Camondo, the École du Patrimoine and the École du Louvre, with their student card.
• Holders of ICOM, AICA and press cards.

The École Camondo in that list is not a coincidence: it is the design school of the same institution, named for the family whose house this is.

What it means while the house is closed

Nothing, at rue de Monceau; there is no admission to be free of. At the Musée des Arts Décoratifs on rue de Rivoli the same categories walk in without a ticket, so an under-26 visitor who wants the institution’s 18th-century rooms now should simply go, ID in hand, and not book anything. For everyone else, the entry ticket with audio guide is the practical option, and I have set out its 3.7 rating honestly on its review page.

The Museum Pass does not help

The Camondo is a Paris Museum Pass site in normal years, but the pass gives no access while the works last, and the pass listing says so. If you are under 26 the pass is a poor buy in any case, since most of the national museums on it already admit you free; the Museum Pass page goes through who it suits.
